Climbing is more than
a simple vertical gymnastic. It combines the art of the body movements with the search for the optimum itinerary, the specificities of the rock (purity of granite, subtlety of limestone, roundness of sandstone)… Moreover, the surrounding environment is anything but ordinary. |
Cliff climbing has the advantage to quickly teach you the basic techniques of alpinism (progression on the rock, knots, rope manoeuvres) in well-known itineraries and in total safety.
It can be organized over a half-day or a full day, with one or two persons.

So many routes, well bolted, mainly slabs, on a perfect granite, with a majority of 5/5+ (5.9/5.10a). For instance :

The Dibona : what a pinnacle !
| From the Soreiller refuge that you can see at the bottom of the face, climbing routes are going everywhere on this exceptional granite. "Madier" route, one of the best, requires only a 5+
(5.9) level.

The Rouget West face at 1H 30 from the refuge gives a very different climb on a exceptional red granite : Version Original (300 m, 5 + or 5.9/5.10a)
Price is 350 € per day for two persons max.
The "Calanques" from Cassis to Marseille : climbing, water, and adventure.
In Calanques climbing is often technically easy (5 or 5.9 max), sometimes quite exposed (descent and crossing above the sea), full of de surprises (tunnels ...), and always very beautiful.
For two persons maximum, my rate is 250 € per day. It is also possible to rent a studio for 3 and for the week for around 300 €.

Verdon : a climbing temple, with so many beautiful routes on a perfect rock ... unfortunately the level is often high.
Nevertheless it is possible to enjoy the particular Verdon atmosphere in a reasonable level (around 5+ or 5.10a) : "L'offre " and the route "les dalles" are two beautiful examples not too crowded. My rate will also be 250 € per day and for two persons maximum.
The Kalymnos island in Greece proposes climbing sectors with columns and stalactites unique in the world !
