The Meije crossing
Perhaps the most beautiful course of the Alps : The "traversée de la Meije" (normal route ; AD/D ; 3982 m)
This course has everything ! : a perfect rock ; a good climb not too hard to reach the "grand pic" ; some ice and mix climbing; big atmosphere on the airy ridge ; a sight seeing ....
It is a big course where we have to be in good shape.
The first day to go to the Promontoire refuge, there are two possibilities : To come by the long pass from "la Bérarde" or to climb the Enfetchores from the intermediate station of the La Grave cable lift.
This second solution has my preference because it is more pleasant and it allows not to put a car in "la Bérarde".
The second day 5/6 climbing hours are required to reach the summit ("grand pic") , and again 5 hours for the ridge and the descent to the Aigle refuge , and at last few hours more to reach the valley.
My price for 1 to 2 persons is 800 € for the two days, and you will have to add the cable lift and the refuges.
