The Râteau West
This very nice summit is easily reached thanks to the cable car of La Grave. It can be done in the day.
Its normal route, the west ridge is quite easy (PD+) which allows an initiation in many techniques in high mountain:
- Walking on a glacier
- A snow slope at 40°/45° with a little bite of ice according the conditions
- A ridge with easy rocks ending by two pitches (III+).
It is also a beautiful viewpoint !
My price is 280 € for the day and I can lead for 3 persons maximum. The cable car cost approximately 30 € per person.
